For every season: Yarn Wreath for Fall

4 Sep

For every season… there is a wreath! Or, at least, there was supposed to be a wreath. Summer slid on by on many fronts, and the wreath front was not excluded. But it’s Labor Day, which means it’s fall, which means it’s wreath time! I was inspired by Mandy over at Harpers Happenings (um Harper? SO CUTE!) to create a Yarn Wreath for Fall. Apparently all the bloggers were doing it this spring, which is why I, in 2011 style, decided to do it six months later. JoAnns suffered from a bit of a lack of imagination in the felt color department, but I think I picked out a few fall-ish colors, and a nice yarn base that can be easily accented with different colors for different seasons (silver and white = holiday, pretty pinks for spring). The best part about this project? Next to no supplies, no mess and one Sunday night in front of the TV.

Daylight Savings Wreath

13 Mar

It’s spring at the bungalow! This weekend I made this little spring wreath for our front door. It was a pretty easy project: a styrofoam wreath, 2 bags of moss, a birds nest, a few plastic eggs, a decrepit old glue gun, and about 30 minutes. I will say it’s not the cleanest craft every (holy moly, spanish moss!) but I had the foresight (for once) to do it on an old quilt that was easy to take outside and shake directly into the trash can.

Happy Spring everyone!
