The bungalow the bungalow! The basics are done, which is why now’s the time to get creative and start thinking about my favorite thing – decorating. Our house is painted in lovely neutrals and grays. Nothing offensive, and colors we can totally live with for a while. So, we’re taking our time, and going to just go with the flow and do the projects that inspire us. So, what’s inspiring me right now? The second bedroom. It’s a multi-use room that will serve as an office, guest bedroom, and crossing my fingers, a lovely little reading nook. But the big debate in our house right now? To blue or not to blue.
Here’s the office in it’s current state (forgive the mess. the beautiful part about a second bedroom? You can shut the door on a mess and declare the house clean. love it!)
And here’s where I imagine life going:
Clockwise, from top: 1. Curtains – Ikea, we’ve owned them for about 3 years 2. Martha Stewart Paint in Plumage 3. CB2 Abacus 4. CB2 Sunnyside 20″ Pillow 5. CB2 Dodo Bird 20″ Pillow 6. CB2 Halina 23″ Pillow 7. West Elm Andalusia Rug 8. West Elm Modern Gnomes 9. eep! I lost this link – anyone? 10. Karlstad Sofa Bed
The problem is, this room is not large. It’s about 8×10, gets an ok amount of light, and has white trim and crown molding. Some might say it’s too small of a room to paint. I tend to laugh in the face of those some, but others in the family aren’t so sure. Seems like it’s the perfect time for a oneyearincali poll!
I say go blue…but only on one wall. You’ll get the pop of color you want without making the room look too small.
good idea! I think we’re going to start with one wall, and see how we’re feeling about it before plunging in to painting the rest!
